Asuán Plate

The Asuán plate is a tableware piece inspired by black basalt, with a low profile and undulating edges, featuring a deep, matte honed finish that recalls the original stone. Its name revives the granite historically quarried in Aswan, in Upper Egypt. From those quarries came obelisks and great monuments, chosen for the stone’s extreme hardness, durability and elegance. The Asuán plate brings this monumental solemnity to the contemporary table, as if each serving were presented on a small fragment of architecture.
